Finally...

I've finally gotten some good news in life.  :)

Today, I met with Dr. Fletcher who is the superintendent for the Twin Lakes School Corporation.  I applied to be a substitute teacher and today was my interview.  He told me that really it was just a formality and he just likes to talk to everyone and get to know them.  So, it was just a nice little chat.  As I was leaving they said they would add me to the list and suggested that I go talk to the lady that makes the phone calls.  So, I stopped by and introduced myself, I felt silly but I did it.  So, hopefully I'll be getting a phone call soon!! I need the money!!

I also signed up for classes next semester and I'll be taking mostly evening classes, that way I can sub in the morning.  And I'll be taking them in Monticello, that way I can save on gas money too. :)  I'm taking one online class, so I'm nervous for that because I'm not too good with self-motivation.

So, tonight I think Patrick and I will be going out with Bobby and Katie for celebratory drinks. :)  Bobby has an interview today and they're looking at a house.  So, we're hoping that everything goes well for everyone. :)

Feels like Fall

Today went pretty well.  History class was boring as usual.  I can't focus in that class, what he writes on the board never coincides with what comes out of his mouth.  So, I feel like I'm not learning anything.  After history, I always go to the library for 2 hours and play computer games until math class.  Today, I found a game that was pretty entertaining and then I finished my math homework.  Math class was again boring, I feel really sorry for my teacher.  He's such a pushover, because he's such a geek.  He kind of fumbles and studders when he talks and has thick glasses.  He's very quiet and I'm reminded of the 40 year old virgin when I look at him.  There are these kids in my class that always talk and he told them once to be quiet and they immediately started talking again.  He's too afraid to tell them to stop talking or leave.  Poor guy.  My communication class is always pretty entertaining.  The kids in the class are really awesome and we all get along really well.  However, my teacher is very similar to my math teacher.  He has glasses and the same hair style.  He is also geeky and lets people walk all over him.

After class I went to babysit Cole and Harper again.  We had fun.  First we played outside and drew pictures with chalk.  I had to convince Cole several times that there wouldn't be a thunderstorm, tornado, or hurricane.  Ha ha.  He thought that because it was halfway cloudy and halfway sunny that it meant bad weather was on the way.  I told him that it was just cold and that it was Fall and that's how Fall feels.  Three seconds later the sun came out and he was like oh you're right.  He's cute.  Harper decided it was too cold and she wanted to go play inside.  We sat down to play some cards, they like 'Go Fish' and 'Crazy 8s.'  Of course, we have to tweek the rules a bit so that they can play.  But, they always have fun, so it's a good time.  Harper wanted to wear her skunk costume and then Cole wanted to wear his pirate costume.  They're goobers.  Harper had some goldfish and then we watched "Finding Nemo."  After the movie they wanted some teddy grahams and decided to take off their costumes.  Then, it was time for me to go home.

Now I'm just waiting for Patrick to get off work.  We're going to go to town to grab a pizza and rent "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."  We're going to take some more pictures of Delilah and just hangout.  It should be a good night. :)

Oops I did it again...

Hello to everyone... anyone?

This is just going to be a quick little update... hopefully to get me back in the blogging groove.  I'm taking classes at the Ivy Tech in Lafayette on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  I'm babysitting Cole and Harper every Monday, so that helps with gas money.  Other than that I don't have a job and I really need one.  Unfortunately with this sucky economy, jobs are few and far between.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I just try to stay constructive at home... helping with laundry and dishes.  Mostly I just play computer games and watch television.  I would much rather be working at a job so that I can be saving some money to move out soon.  Living at home has it's advantages, I mean it's free room and board, but mostly it sucks.

Patrick and I are still doing really well.  He's working at the family feed mill.  He'll be getting his CDL pretty soon so that he can start hauling feed.  That will give him better hours and better pay, so we're both looking forward to that. :)  Last weekend, we found a puppy.  Well, she found us!! One day she just wandered into his yard and we've been taking care of her ever since.  She had a big gash on her back, so we've been nursing her back to health.  She's starting to get a lot more playful.  Oh, her name... for the first weekend we just fondly referred to her as Puppy.  But after some thought, Patrick came up with a better name.  He said that we should call her Delilah, like Sampson and Delilah from The Bible.  He said that when we get a big dog, we'll name him Sampson.  Ha ha.  So, yeah we've grown quite fond of her.  She's been through 2 collars already, won't wear her sweater, and is now in love with her new dog house and bed. :)  In the picture, she is sunning herself in the mulch.  She's a goober. :-P

So, all in all life is going pretty well lately.  I can't complain too much.  It would be fantastic if I was employed and engaged ;)  In due time...

Maybe this will work...

Ok, so I still don't really have a concrete plan, but I'm just going to try something and hope for the best.

I work a double tomorrow. :(  Tuesday is my day off.  So, hopefully that morning I will get up and clean my room some.  Then, when my Mom gets off work, we're going to go to Michigan City to see if I can sign up for classes at the Ivy Tech there.  And if the classes work out, I'm thinking about applying to be a substitute teacher.  It's easy money and I'm pretty much guaranteed work if I say I'll work at any school in the corporation.  Plus, I'll have lots of free time to hangout with friends and Patrick.  Unfortunately I won't be making enough money to live on my own.  However, if all of that works out, maybe I can get a second job and start saving up lots of moolah.  So keep your fingers crossed for me. :)

Only one more week until Florida vacation with my favorite people!! :)  This time next week; Katie, Bobby, Patrick and I will be driving to Florida.  We'll be staying in Bobby's sister's apartment... for FREE!!  So, we only have to pay for gas and our food.  I don't think that we have too much planned that will cost a lot of money.  We might do a couple of touristy things, but we'll mostly be laying on the beach, relaxing.... :)  And we're all very excited for that!!  Both of the boys are farmers, so us girls hardly ever see them.  We're all just excited for some quality alone time with our significant others and our best friends!!

This summer is slowly getting better, I realize that it's hardly summer anymore... but yeah... whatever...

Sorry... again...

Not that anyone actually reads this... but I apologize for my LONG LONG absence.

This summer has just flown by!! I started the summer out with high hopes and a good outlook.  And boy was I wrong...  At the beginning of the summer, I was working anywhere from 45-60 hours a week.  I hardly got to see Patrick and I never saw any of my friends.  I was always so tired and my room was a constant mess.  The pay was nice, but it wasn't worth my lack of sanity.

Since then, I have been working a mere 35 hours a week and I get to see Patrick every night for a couple of hours.  On my days off I hangout with a couple of girls at whatever pool we can get our hands on.  It really pays to know lots of people with pools.  So, we would just hop from pool to pool every week.  And on days that I don't work until 4, I either try to get some stuff done around the house or hangout with friends.  On days that I work until 4... I spend the evening with Katie, my bff and then when Patrick gets off work we all hangout.  So, really the summer is looking up!! :)

Right now, Patrick is back at Ft. Knox.  He has been there since last Saturday and will be there until August 9th.  It really sucks not being able to see him.  We do get to talk occasionally through text-messaging, but that's just not the same.  After I get off work at 4 on August 10th, Katie, Bobby, Patrick and I are driving down to Florida for a week. And the 4 of us couldn't be more excited!! We don't have a lot planned, we're all just so tired of working all the time and we would really like to do something exciting!!  We'll have a free place to stay, so we just have to pay for food and gas.

I have done a lot of shopping this summer.  So, I have lots of cute new clothes, but no money... whoops. Oh well.  I just love summer and the sun and water and free time!! And I'm 21 now... so life is just getting good. :)

However, I don't know what I'm going to do with my life. :(  I need to get a job and I need to take classes.  I don't want to live at home anymore, but I don't know where I should live.  I don't know if I want to move to Lafayette and take classes at Ivy Tech and then try to find a job there.  That would mean that I wouldn't get to see Patrick that much. And then, living on my own and paying bills would mean that I wouldn't have any money.  Or I could live at home and drive to Michigan City to take classes.  But then where would I work?  So really I'm asking you my avid blog reader to plan out my life for me... please and thank you!! :)
